MOMMY&ME AT THE BEACH

A Session for Every Season
of Motherhood

When you hear “Mommy & Me,” it’s easy to picture toddlers in matching outfits or a mama cradling her baby close. And while those moments are undeniably special, the magic of a mommy and me session doesn’t fade as the years go by — it simply deepens.

Recently, I had the joy of photographing a truly beautiful session at Laguna Beach — not with a mama and her small children, but with a mother and her adult daughter, who is now a mother of four herself. Yes, you read that right: four kiddos of her own! This session was a celebration of the bond that grows stronger with time, a quiet honoring of the roots that shape generations.

We met during golden hour, when the sun was soft and the breeze carried just the right amount of ocean air. The light danced on the waves, wrapping these two women in a soft glow that perfectly matched the tenderness between them. It was laughter and long hugs, hands held and quiet moments of reflection. There’s something timeless about standing on the shore with the woman who raised you, both of you mothers now, connected not just by blood but by shared experience.

These are the stories I live to tell — the kind that aren’t always captured on social media but are deeply felt in the heart.

So if you’ve ever thought “Mommy & Me” was only for the little years, let this be your sign: it’s not. It’s for every stage — when you’re learning how to walk, when you’re learning how to parent, and even when your children are grown and you find yourself leaning on your own mom in new ways.

Motherhood doesn’t have an expiration date. And neither does the love between a mother and her child.

Let’s tell your story — whether you’re rocking the newborn snuggles or sharing a quiet laugh with the woman who gave you life, let’s make space for these moments that matter.

Thinking about your own Mommy & Me session? I’d love to chat and help you dream it up. Whether on the sandy shores of Laguna Beach or somewhere special to you, these memories are worth capturing — no matter how old "me" is.
